Living Your Own Life?

One of the books I’ve been reading includes a quote by the late Steve Jobs that I really like.

Steve once said:  Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.  Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.  Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.  And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.  They somehow already know what you truly want to become.  Everything else is secondary.

Take The Next Big StepIt is the rare person who continues to believe in their dream.  We find ourselves pushed, prodded and ridiculed until we conform to “normal”, until we act and react like everyone else around us.  Most people seem to lose, or choose to abandon, their ability to dream and imagine something better for their life by the age of fourteen.

We usually develop the same habits, reactions and responses as the people around us.  Since most of the people in our life have given up on their dream and settled for something else, they downplay our hopes and aspirations.  Since they didn’t live their dream, they discourage us from living ours.  The pattern continues.

Do you see a dangerous pattern?

The problem is, in our soul has a longing.  We live our life yearning for the thing we gave up long ago.

When we are encouraged to be a team player, to agree with the party line, to stand down when our opinion differs from the masses, we give up a piece of our heart.  Eventually, most people lose all sense of self.

Does this make sense?

The American Dream, was not built by a think tank or a committee.  The American Dream was built by those who took risks, who dared to be different than the masses.  They found and developed the support systems…sometimes only their own fortitude (an old-fashioned word for guts and determination) to make something great.  You might be reading this on a device created by Apple this very moment.  Imagine how much different life would be if Steve Jobs cowed to the opinions of his peers.  Steve was nobody particularly different than you are.  The main difference could be that he believed doing something great was what he was made to do.

What longing in your soul have you been ignoring?

Why is it that we seem to think that it’s somebody else’s job to give us one?  The time has come to stand up and take responsibility for our own future.  Since we already know deep down what we were created to do, discovering what we buried there is our responsibility.

Is it time to rediscover your heart?  Do you see how important this simple choice is?

If you’ve been following my writing you know that I’ve been working on even more systems that can help you get from where you are now to Bigger and Better.  It’s very fascinating to see people who discover they have what it takes to do Big things.  Overcoming years of negative input from their peers, they take the steps and find the systems they need to do something really great!

The Blind Spot Awareness Blueprint and Recovery Guide is almost ready!  I’m getting lots of good feedback from my editors who think it will be very helpful for some of my clients.  As I say in the guide:

Who has Blind Spots?

I have Blind Spots.

Your friends have Blind Spots…

and so do you.
You are not alone.  Everyone has areas of their life that need improvement, that hold us back and keep us from making the choices that get us where we really want to go.  Sometimes we are too afraid to try.  This Blueprint is a very important first step in the discovery of Blind Spots and can help you now!

It is not too late to Invest In You!

Do you see how important this is?

You are worth it!

  • You are good enough.
  • You are strong enough.
  • You are beautiful enough.
  • You are smart enough.
  • You ARE enough to do what you were created to do.
  • I believe in you.

I strongly believe that you and I were created for a special purpose and we are here for a very special reason.

Thank you for being there my friend.
